Advanced Practice Provider – Family Medicine & Pediatrics

About the role

Rockbridge Area Health Center is seeking a compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to deliver high‑quality primary care in family medicine and pediatrics. You will join an integrated team of physicians, dentists, social workers, dietitians, behavioral health counselors, and other specialists to improve access to care for the community.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary‑care services, including examinations, diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up.
• Prescribe medications in accordance with DEA regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient‑centered care plans.
• Participate in community outreach and health‑promotion activities.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Unrestricted Virginia license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• DEA license to prescribe medication, if applicable.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with hands‑on practicum.
• Not sanctioned under Medicaid or Medicare.
• At least one year of clinical experience preferred.
