About the role

Georgia Piedmont Technical College is seeking a dedicated Adult Education Teacher to provide high‑quality instruction to adult learners. The position focuses on building foundational academic skills, preparing students for GED/HiSET exams, and supporting their transition to further education or career pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and deliver engaging lessons in reading, writing, mathematics, and social studies tailored to adult learners.
• Assess student levels and progress using diagnostic tools and formative/summative assessments.
• Create individualized learning plans and differentiate instruction to meet diverse educational backgrounds.
• Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, progress, and performance data.
• Collaborate with support staff, counselors, and faculty to provide comprehensive student services.
• Stay current with best practices in adult education, instructional technology, and curriculum development.
• Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and college initiatives.
• Foster an inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and success.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Adult Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Valid Georgia teaching certification or ability to obtain one within the specified timeframe.
• Minimum two years of experience teaching adult learners in a post‑secondary or adult‑education setting.
• Strong knowledge of adult learning theories, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to student success and continuous improvement.
