Adult Care Licensure Team Supervisor

About the role

The Adult Care Licensure Team Supervisor leads a team of surveyors who ensure that licensed adult care and family care homes in North Carolina meet state health, safety, and rights standards. The position is home‑based in the Eastern region and involves regular travel to facilities and the central office in Raleigh.

Key responsibilities

• Coach, direct, and oversee the daily work of adult care surveyors.
• Schedule and track survey assignments to guarantee timely coverage across the region.
• Review survey reports for accuracy, timeliness, and legal defensibility before licensure decisions.
• Analyze findings to determine compliance with applicable statutes and regulations.
• Document regulatory findings clearly and defensibly.
• Provide technical assistance to adult care providers and prospective applicants.
• Offer regulatory guidance to County Departments of Social Services staff.
• Coordinate communication and workflow to support performance management and quality assurance.
• Assist with policy implementation by applying regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Residence in Wilson, Wayne, Greene, Nash, Halifax, Pitt, Craven, Bertie, Gates, or contiguous counties.
• Willingness to travel frequently, including occasional overnight stays.
• Ability to use a state‑provided vehicle, rental, or personal vehicle for travel.
• Experience in adult care licensing, nursing, or related regulatory work (as indicated by the Nurse Consultant II classification).
