About the role
TASC Outpatient Services is seeking a highly organized, compassionate Admissions Specialist & Administrative Assistant to support individuals entering outpatient substance use disorder and behavioral health programs in Columbus, Indiana.
Key responsibilities
- Respond promptly to new referrals and admissions inquiries, returning missed calls within one hour.
- Conduct initial phone and in‑person screenings to determine eligibility and appropriate level of care.
- Educate prospective clients and families about outpatient services, program expectations, admissions process, and financial responsibilities.
- Schedule and coordinate clinical and medical assessments, intake appointments, and tours.
- Verify insurance, collect financial guarantor information, and arrange payment plans.
- Ensure completion of all required admission documentation, including consents and releases.
- Enter and maintain referral, assessment, and admission data in EMR and CRM systems.
- Collaborate with Verification of Benefits, Billing, clinical teams, and Business Development to facilitate timely access to care.
- Provide community resource referrals when individuals are not eligible for TASC services.
- Maintain compliance with state, federal, organizational, and accreditation requirements.
- Provide administrative support to the Executive Director and outpatient team, including payment processing, record keeping, and scheduling.
- Assist medical providers with coordination of laboratory services and follow‑up.
- Support process improvements and new operational initiatives as assigned.
Required profile
- Compassionate and patient‑focused with strong communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Familiarity with outpatient behavioral health or substance‑use disorder services.
- Experience with insurance verification and basic financial documentation.
- Proficiency in using EMR and CRM systems.
- Team player who can collaborate across clinical, billing, and business development functions.
