About the role
The Administrative Services Assistant (OA) provides essential support to the Administration Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Louisiana. This position handles a range of clerical and administrative tasks, ensuring smooth daily operations and accurate documentation.
Key responsibilities
- Perform direct and indirect support services for the Administration Division.
- Produce written documents, reports, and memoranda using advanced office‑automation software.
- Answer telephone calls and greet visitors, routing them to appropriate staff members.
- Review outgoing correspondence for procedural, grammatical, and factual accuracy.
- Prepare travel authorizations, vouchers, and related paperwork.
- Assist with scheduling appointments, conferences, and maintaining property records as experience grows.
Required profile
- U.S. citizen or national; must pass pre‑employment adjudication and background checks.
- Registered for Selective Service if applicable.
- Eligible for GS‑05 or GS‑06 level based on specialized experience or education (bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- One year of specialized experience at the GS‑04 level (or equivalent) for GS‑05 eligibility, or one year at GS‑05 level for GS‑06 eligibility.
Required skills
- Proficiency with office automation software, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written communication and proofreading abilities.
- Ability to prepare and process travel authorizations and vouchers.
