Adjunct Instructor – Part‑time Faculty (Public Health)

About the role
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Gillings School of Global Public Health seeks an Adjunct Instructor to teach Master of Public Health (MPH) courses on a part‑time, visiting basis. This temporary 1‑year appointment involves approximately 20 hours of instruction per week and contributes to the School’s mission of delivering rigorous, experiential public‑health education.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver assigned MPH courses, including lectures, discussions, and labs.
- Develop and update course materials to reflect current public‑health practice and research.
- Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and projects.
- Maintain regular office hours and provide academic advising to graduate students.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum planning.
Required profile
- Graduate degree in public health or a closely related field (MPH, DrPH, PhD, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience teaching at the graduate level or equivalent professional expertise.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
