Adjunct Instructor of Biological Sciences

About the role

The Department of Biological Sciences at LSU Eunice seeks an Adjunct Instructor to develop and deliver undergraduate course content and laboratory experiences. This part‑time faculty position supports student learning through curriculum design, instruction, and assessment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop course syllabi, lesson plans, and supporting materials for biological science courses and submit them to the Division on schedule (approximately 60% of effort).
• Teach lecture and lab sections, record and communicate grades promptly, and submit Student Learning Outcomes.
• Evaluate student performance, provide feedback, and collaborate on remediation plans when needed.
• Maintain regular office hours to advise and assist students (about 35% of effort).
• Perform other duties assigned by department leadership (approximately 5%).

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a biological sciences‑related field from a regionally accredited institution, or a Master’s in an unrelated field with at least 18 credit hours in biological sciences.
• Preferred: Ph.D. in a related discipline and a minimum of two years of teaching experience in both in‑person and online formats.
