Adjunct Instructor – Mechatronics & Automated Manufacturing

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking an Adjunct Instructor to teach courses in industrial systems, automated manufacturing, and mechatronics. This full‑time, day‑shift position will guide students through hands‑on technical training and support their career development.

Key responsibilities

• Instruct and supervise students in mechatronics, automated manufacturing, and industrial systems programs.
• Develop course outlines, lesson plans, and learning objectives for credited technical courses.
• Evaluate student progress and maintain documentation, reports, and certification requirements.
• Manage classroom supplies, equipment, and budget requests.
• Ensure safety and security standards are met in training areas.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and industry partners on recruitment, retention, and job placement.

Required profile

• Certificate‑level credential in mechatronics, automated systems, industrial systems, electro‑mechanical technology, electrical engineering technology, or a related field.
• Minimum three years of hands‑on experience troubleshooting automated cells, including Allen Bradley PLCs, SMC pneumatics and hydraulics, electronic controls, and motor systems.
• Associate degree in a related technical discipline is preferred, along with five years of in‑field experience.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical instruction and basic computer proficiency.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership abilities.
