Adjunct Instructor – Mechanical Engineering

About the role

The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at LSU seeks an Adjunct Instructor to teach undergraduate Mechanical Engineering courses. This part‑time faculty position focuses on delivering technical electives or core curriculum to engineering students.

Key responsibilities

• Teach assigned Mechanical Engineering courses as directed by the ME UG Program Co‑Director and Department Chair.
• Prepare and deliver lectures, labs, and assessments in accordance with curriculum standards.
• Maintain course materials, grade student work, and provide timely feedback.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development when needed.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of five years of relevant industry experience.
• Eligibility to work in the United States at the time of hire.
