Adjunct Instructor – Health Information Management Technology

About the role

Georgia Piedmont Technical College is seeking a part‑time Adjunct Instructor to teach Health Information Management Technology (HIMT) courses. The position supports both campus‑based and online learners, including high‑school students taking college‑level classes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lecture and laboratory instruction for HIMT credit courses.
• Develop and follow course syllabi, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards.
• Prepare, administer, and grade assessments, maintaining accurate grade books and records.
• Provide timely documentation and inventory management for course materials and equipment.
• Collaborate with the Dean of the School of Allied Health and other faculty members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or a related field.
• At least three years of recent professional experience in health information management.
• Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA); Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) preferred.
• Ability to teach adult learners and high‑school students in both classroom and online environments.
• Compliance with all accrediting body requirements for the assigned courses.
