Adjunct Instructor – Adult Education DRC

About the role

We are seeking an Adjunct Instructor to deliver adult education classes at a Day Reporting Center (DRC) in Barnesville, Georgia. The role involves classroom instruction for high‑risk, high‑need individuals, focusing on substance use, mental health, and behavioral issues.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver classroom instruction and evaluate student progress toward educational goals.
• Develop and maintain Student Education Plans, lesson plans, and instructional materials.
• Provide learner guidance, monitor ongoing performance, and assist with student retention.
• Participate in EAGLE competition and prepare required documentation and administrative reports.
• Engage in staff development, team conferences, and maintain a secure classroom environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university (minimum).
• Preferred: Master’s degree in education or related field.
• At least two years of teaching adult education in a technical college setting.
• Successful completion of criminal background investigation and motor vehicle screening.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers and job‑related software.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Interpersonal relations and ability to adapt instructional material to diverse learning styles.
• Knowledge of effective instructional methods for adult learners.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of $22.00.
• Part‑time schedule (up to 19 hours per week), Monday‑Thursday 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm.
