Adjunct Faculty – Web Design

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a part‑time Adjunct Faculty member to teach Web Design and related courses at Gwinnett Technical College. This position offers the chance to shape future professionals while working within a supportive academic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lectures and labs for courses such as Web Design, Advanced Adobe Suite, Mobile Development, and Scripting languages.
• Develop lesson plans, evaluate student progress, and maintain required documentation.
• Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives.
• Occasionally serve as a Campus Security Authority and fulfill related training duties.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 18 graduate hours, or a Master’s degree in the field.
• Minimum two years of relevant professional experience in web design or development.
• Credentialed to satisfy accrediting bodies for assigned courses.

Required skills

• Web design and development tools: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, Ruby, Python, LAMP stack.
• Advanced scripting and frameworks.NET, C#, ASP, Node.js, Ruby on Rails.
• Design software: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, Canvas.
• Database and server technologies: MySQL, hosting platforms.
