Adjunct Faculty – Residential Carpentry (Part‑time)

About the role

The Georgia State Government, through Gwinnett Technical College, seeks a part‑time Adjunct Faculty member to teach Residential Carpentry. This non‑benefited, FLSA‑exempt position supports the Engineering Construction Manufacturing and Design Division and reports to the Program Director of Carpentry and Residential Construction Management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lecture and computer‑lab material for residential carpentry courses.
• Follow prepared lesson plans to provide classroom instruction for technical core courses.
• Evaluate students’ progress toward course goals and objectives.
• Prepare and maintain required documentation and administrative reports.
• Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
• Assist with recruitment, retention, and job‑placement efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the college’s mission.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, or an Associate’s degree with at least two years of relevant experience.
• Minimum two years of professional experience in residential carpentry or construction.
• Post‑secondary teaching experience is preferred.

Required skills

• Ability to follow prepared lesson plans and conduct classroom instruction.
• Capability to evaluate student performance against defined objectives.
• Proficiency in preparing and maintaining administrative documentation.
