Adjunct Faculty – Physics (Part‑time)

About the role

The Department of Computational, Engineering and Mathematical Sciences at Texas A&M University‑San Antonio seeks a part‑time, non‑tenure‑track Adjunct Faculty member to teach introductory physics courses. The position involves delivering face‑to‑face lectures and laboratory sessions for both algebra‑based and calculus‑based physics sequences during the Fall semester, with potential extensions into Spring and Summer 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Teach 3‑hour lecture courses and 3‑hour laboratory courses in introductory physics.
• Create and maintain a safe laboratory environment for students.
• Develop and deliver course materials, including syllabi, assignments, and assessments.
• Provide timely feedback and support to students.
• Collaborate with department faculty on curriculum and instructional improvements.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Physics or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• At least 18 graduate credit hours in a related area.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with colleagues.
• Strong self‑discipline and capacity to work independently.
• Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
