Adjunct Faculty – Heavy Equipment Operation

About the role

The State of Georgia seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to teach Heavy Equipment Operation (HEO) courses at the Americus campus. This part‑time position blends classroom instruction with hands‑on training on real machinery and simulators, supporting student success in the construction industry.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures on hydraulics, maintenance, and safety while following the approved syllabus.
• Conduct practical sessions using excavators, backhoes, wheel loaders, and dozers, as well as equipment simulators.
• Assess student performance, maintain grade books, and keep accurate records of equipment inventory.
• Provide guidance on equipment operation, safety practices, and course material.
• Complete all required documentation on time and perform any additional duties assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of operational experience with varied heavy machinery.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, maintenance procedures, and industry safety standards.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work both in classroom and outdoor field environments.
