Activity Assistant - Part Time

About the role

Monarch/Brandywine Senior Living is hiring a part-time Activity Assistant in Paramus, NJ, at 567 Paramus Road. The role implements activities and programs that meet the needs, interests and capabilities of residents, engaging them every day. The hourly rate is $18.00.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with planning and implementing activities that meet residents' needs and interests
• Help create resident histories and profiles with resident and family involvement
• Set up and clean up daily activities
• Create a monthly social program calendar and distribute it to staff and residents
• Keep residents engaged between planned social activities
• Drive the community vehicle for resident outings
• Attend all scheduled in-service training
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations and community policies
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Experience with seniors and/or leading activities preferred
• Able to work at least one weekend day
• High school diploma or higher education preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Willingness to work flexible hours
• Ability to drive the community vehicle for resident outings
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift or carry up to 25 lbs and use proper body mechanics

Required skills

• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel)
• Ability to learn new applications
