Active Recruiter (6‑month Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an Active Recruiter on a 6‑month contract to join our talent acquisition team. You will work onsite, collaborating with hiring managers and talent acquisition specialists to source and engage top talent for a variety of positions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop creative, proactive sourcing strategies utilizing advanced search methods, social media and professional networks.
• Identify and engage passive candidates who may not be actively looking for new opportunities.
• Review leads, initiate phone outreach, and assess candidate interest levels.
• Conduct phone screens to evaluate qualifications against open roles.
• Partner with talent acquisition specialists to coordinate panel interviews and support the onboarding process.
• Maintain a professional, courteous demeanor to promote a positive image of the organization.
• Adhere to a daily schedule aligned with RCOC hours of operation and attend onsite work regularly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Development, Human Resource Administration, Education or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years full‑time experience in active recruiting.
• Strong planning, organizational and written/verbal communication abilities.
• Experience hiring union employees or civil engineers is a plus.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license and legal eligibility to work in the United States.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
