Accounts Payable Clerk

About the role

Wilson Construction Company is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join its headquarters in Canby, OR. The role supports the Accounts Payable Department and reports to the Accounts Payable Manager, offering a solid foundation for candidates looking to grow their accounting expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, process, and disburse all incoming electronic invoices.
• Perform routine clerical tasks such as filing, copying, faxing, and scanning.
• Process credit applications for new vendors and maintain vendor records.
• Enter, edit, and post data accurately into the accounting system and Excel spreadsheets.
• Reconcile Visa statements, distribute checks, and attach checks/ACH files to TimberScan.
• Generate reports from check runs and assist with 1099 maintenance.
• Reconcile vendor statements, follow up on missing invoices, and resolve discrepancies.
• Create UPS and USPS shipping labels for outgoing checks.
• Support year‑end projects and perform other assigned duties.

Required profile

• At least one year of recent experience in accounts payable, office administration, or a clerical role.
• Intermediate proficiency with Excel and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to follow systematic procedures.
• Comfortable working in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
• Positive problem‑solving attitude, reliability, and self‑motivation.
• Effective communication skills.
