Accounts Payable Accountant

About the role

Stayd Collective unites eight independent vacation rental companies under one platform, providing shared services in HR, payroll, marketing, technology, finance and accounting. As an Accounts Payable Accountant you will own the payables cycle from invoice intake through payment and reconciliation, covering every vendor bill across the portfolio. The role is remote, 40-45 hours per week, with U.S. Eastern time overlap and occasional weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily vendor accounts payable transactions through Guesty and post reimbursable operating expenses in QuickBooks Online.
• Code invoices accurately to the correct property, entity and expense account, and distinguish owner-billable expenses from company costs.
• Manage the A/P inbox so invoices move efficiently through review and approval, and prepare and process payment runs.
• Complete monthly vendor reconciliations, reconcile credit card and expense activity, and prepare draft bank reconciliations.
• Prepare A/P accruals, support month-end close, annual audits and financial reporting, and prepare annual 1099 filings.
• Onboard new vendors, collect and maintain W-9 documentation, and keep financial and vendor records accurate and up to date.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience (5+ preferred) with a U.S., Canadian, Australian or UK employer; 2+ years in property management or vacation rental accounting.
• Demonstrated experience handling high-volume accounts payable and strong attention to detail in coding and processing invoices.
• Ability to work some hours in Eastern time and occasional weekends, with full-time availability of 40-45 hours per week.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
• Nice to have: Guesty PMS, Topkey, NetSuite, Notion and Slack, A/P automation or expense management platforms, and property-level or trust accounting.

Compensation is $18,000-$26,000 USD annually, depending on experience.
