Accounting Technician 1

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking an Accounting Technician 1 to join the Department of Driver Services in Conyers. This entry‑level position supports the agency’s financial operations by processing payments, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with reconciliations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and post customer payments, including cash and check transactions.
• Prepare bank deposits and investigate account discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate accounts‑receivable files and post revenues from local deposits.
• Perform adjusting entries and timely reconciliations.
• Notify managers of any balancing issues, trends, or problems.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED plus two years of related accounting or fiscal experience, or one year as an Accounting Technician Trainee.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize work.
• Effective communication skills for answering customer and employee inquiries.
