Accounting Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to support the accounts receivable function at our Jefferson, Louisiana location. The role focuses on billing, cash application, and maintaining accurate financial records using accounting systems.

Key responsibilities

• Manage monthly invoicing and ensure accurate, timely customer billing.
• Review financial entries, supporting documentation, and coded transactions for correctness and proper account assignment.
• Investigate incoming cash receipts, record payments in Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains, and resolve unapplied or mismatched payments.
• Support collections follow‑up, payment tracking, and aging analysis.
• Maintain records and analyze account activity using Excel and Word.
• Assist the finance team with additional accounting and administrative tasks as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least four years of relevant experience, or a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or cash applications.
• Strong understanding of core accounting principles.
• Excellent data‑entry accuracy and attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Organizational ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Quick learner of new accounting systems.
