Accounting Manager – Treasury & FX

About the role

The Global Business Solutions Center (GBSC) at Mastercard is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead treasury and foreign exchange accounting across the company’s worldwide operations. This senior position will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective collaboration with Treasury, Corporate Accounting, and regional finance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee treasury accounting and foreign exchange accounting processes, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and internal policies.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for cash, investments, foreign currency transactions, intercompany funding, and treasury‑related accounts.
• Review and approve complex journal entries, foreign currency remeasurement, translation adjustments, and intercompany settlements.
• Partner with Treasury and Technical Accounting to assess and account for FX exposures, financing arrangements, and other treasury transactions.
• Oversee accounting and reporting for cash, cash equivalents, investments, restricted cash, bank fees, and related balances.
• Review general‑ledger reconciliations, investigate significant fluctuations, and resolve foreign‑exchange‑related variances.
• Analyze foreign‑currency impacts and provide insights on gains, losses, and treasury performance.

Required profile

• Strong technical accounting expertise with a focus on treasury and foreign‑exchange accounting.
• Proven experience managing complex accounting processes and leading finance teams.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and corporate accounting policies.
• Ability to collaborate across Treasury, Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Financial Systems, and regional finance groups.
