Accounting Manager / Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead core accounting operations in Irvine, California. The role will oversee payables, receivables, fixed assets, accruals, and related reporting while strengthening internal controls and driving efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily accounting activities across accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and vendor accruals.
• Review and process invoices, disbursements, and payment records with a high degree of accuracy.
• Strengthen internal controls within payables and related workflows to mitigate financial risk.
• Oversee vendor‑related reporting, including 1099 filings, escheatment, and contract spend tracking.
• Maintain vendor relationships, resolve issues promptly, and ensure efficient transaction handling.
• Supervise reconciliations, journal entry preparation, and month‑end close tasks.
• Manage fixed‑asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and policy compliance.
• Monitor prepaid balances and amortization schedules for correct expense recognition.
• Provide coaching, performance feedback, and training to accounting staff.
• Support accounting projects, policy updates, and system implementations.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading accounting operations in a manager or supervisor capacity.
• Strong knowledge of month‑end close, general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Experience supporting financial statement audits and preparing documentation.
• Hands‑on expertise in accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals, fixed assets, and prepaid accounting.
• Ability to develop and maintain accounting controls, policies, and process improvements.
• Experience with vendor reporting, 1099 compliance, and cross‑functional coordination.
