Accounting Assistant – Middle Office

About the role

The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund’s Office of Investment Management is seeking an Accounting Assistant for its Middle Office team. Reporting to an Accountant, you will support post‑trade activities for a $100+ billion global investment portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Scrutinize source documents for completeness, accuracy and validity of broker confirmations.
• Investigate erroneous or unmatched trade details and take corrective actions.
• Communicate with brokers, private fund managers and counterparties regarding missing documentation or trade discrepancies.
• Reconcile and review end‑of‑day trades, ensuring proper clearance procedures.
• Maintain quality control over trade capture and validation in the trade order management system versus the central trade matching system for global equities and fixed income securities.
• Manually confirm and validate trade details for trades not processed in the central matching system.
• Initiate and prepare onboarding of new brokers in both trade order management and central matching systems.
• Consolidate and compile data on trade volume, straight‑through processing rate, and manually‑adjusted trades for performance monitoring.
• Prepare worksheets and assist with key performance and risk indicator reporting.
• Audit and monitor changes to reference and static investment data to ensure correctness and compliance with market standards.
• Contribute to system enhancements, including user acceptance testing for trade order and matching systems.
• Assist in developing process‑automation solutions to improve efficiency and control of post‑trade support activities.
