Accountant – Monthly Close & Reporting

About the role

Adore Me is seeking an Accountant to support month‑end close, financial reporting, and operational accounting. The role will work cross‑functionally with data, engineering, and operations teams to ensure accurate financial results.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for multiple areas, including inventory, equity, assets, prepaids, and fixed assets.
• Develop and enhance workpapers and accounting processes.
• Analyze monthly financial results and variances, presenting findings to accounting leadership and cross‑functional teams during close calls.
• Partner with Data, Engineering, and Operations teams to investigate and resolve accounting‑related system or data issues.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and Sarbanes‑Oxley requirements.
• Perform internal control testing and support financial statement audits in collaboration with the Internal Audit function.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA or CPA track preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience at a public accounting firm (audit) or contributing to the financial statement close process.
• Experience in a startup or retail environment is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to work on‑site in SoHo, New York on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
