Accountant (DTAE) – Government Position

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a qualified Accountant (DTAE) to join its finance team in Clarkston. This full‑time position supports the preparation and analysis of financial reports that guide public‑sector decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze financial data and prepare accurate financial statements and reports.
• Ensure compliance with state accounting standards and regulations.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and month‑end close processes.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Provide financial information to internal stakeholders as needed.

Required profile

• Baccalaureate degree in accounting or a related field, OR an Associate degree in accounting with at least two years of relevant work experience.
• Strong understanding of governmental accounting principles.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in standard accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
