Access Coordinator II (PRN)

About the role

Access Coordinator II (PRN) provides comprehensive support for patient care activities across multiple clinics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. The role involves greeting patients, handling appointments, insurance verification, and coordinating admissions and surgeries.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule, reschedule, coordinate and cancel appointments using the hospital system and conduct pre‑registration as needed.
• Create new patient charts, verify insurance coverage, run eligibility checks and gather outside medical records.
• Meet and greet the public, answer phones professionally, and collect payments while issuing receipts.
• Assist with hospital admissions, surgery scheduling, and coordinate referrals, consults, tests, and procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of customer service or healthcare experience.
• Basic proficiency with computers, preferably Microsoft Office.
• Excellent telephone etiquette and general knowledge of office equipment.
