Academic Nephrologist (Physician)

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Nephrologist to join its academic department in New Orleans. The role combines direct patient care in a tertiary‑care setting with teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and participation in clinical research to improve quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nephrology care to a diverse patient population in a tertiary academic center.
• Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows across the Ochsner Clinical School.
• Engage in clinical research projects and contribute to scholarly activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and safety.

Required profile

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Nephrology.
• Full‑time availability and commitment to academic duties.
• Interest in teaching, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Willingness to obtain an academic appointment through Ochsner Clinical School.
