Academic Intervention Assistant (Math) – 2026‑2027 School Year

About the role

The Academic Intervention Assistant will support students in a resource setting, helping them improve in math, reading, writing, and behavior. You will create an organized, smoothly functioning classroom environment that maximizes the use of instructional programs and resource materials.

Key responsibilities

• Provide targeted academic assistance in mathematics and other core subjects.
• Maintain a well‑organized classroom that promotes student engagement.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to monitor student progress.
• Implement behavior‑management strategies as needed.
• Participate in required training sessions and maintain confidentiality of student information.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• At least one year of experience working with children who have special needs.
• Experience supervising children is preferred.
• Ability to keep privileged student, teacher, and parent information confidential.
• Willingness to attend training as directed.
• Valid IVP Level One AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Required skills

• Basic classroom management techniques.
• Understanding of instructional resources for math and literacy.
