Academic Developer

About the role

The Academic Developer will champion and elevate the quality of learning, teaching, and assessment across UEL. Working at the interface of theory and practice, you will collaborate with School Directors and professional services to design, deliver and evaluate high‑impact academic development initiatives. The role is hybrid, requiring two days on campus each week.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deliver and evaluate professional development programmes for academic staff.
• Lead university‑wide symposia and mentor staff through AdvanceHE Fellowship applications.
• Develop and implement technology‑enhanced learning (TEL) initiatives.
• Conduct and publish pedagogic research.
• Collaborate with School Directors of Education and Experience and professional service teams.

Required profile

• Minimum of 4 years experience in higher‑education academic development.
• Proven track record of end‑to‑end design, delivery and evaluation of academic development initiatives.
• Experience working with digital and AI‑enabled education environments.
