Academic Advisor – Undergraduate & Graduate Programs

About the role

The Berkley School of Nursing at Georgetown University is seeking an experienced Academic Advisor to provide comprehensive, student‑centered guidance to a diverse undergraduate and graduate population. Rooted in the Jesuit tradition of cura personalis, the advisor will help students navigate curriculum planning, academic policies, and personal development opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist students with course registration, degree progression, and academic planning.
• Collaborate with faculty, deans, and campus partners to address academic challenges.
• Coordinate study‑abroad, internship, graduate school, and career counseling initiatives.
• Liaise with central units such as the Registrar, Joint Office of Graduate Studies, and Office of Global Education.
• Maintain accurate student records using Banner, Cognos, and Salesforce CRM.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of experience in higher‑education advising or related roles.
• Master’s degree in Higher Education, Counseling, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple complex tasks in a dynamic environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Banner student information system.
• Experience using Cognos for data reporting.
• Familiarity with Salesforce CRM.
