Academic Advisor – Engineering

About the role

The University of Arkansas, Fayetteville seeks an Academic Advisor to support engineering students in planning and achieving their academic goals. The advisor will serve as a primary point of contact for students, helping them navigate degree requirements, course selection, and career pathways within the College of Engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individualized academic advising to undergraduate engineering students.
• Interpret and communicate university and college policies, degree requirements, and registration procedures.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and support services to promote student success and retention.
• Maintain accurate advising records in compliance with institutional guidelines.
• Assist students in developing academic plans that align with career objectives and graduation timelines.

Required profile

• Current employee of the University of Arkansas System (including student employees and graduate assistants).
• Strong knowledge of engineering curricula and university academic policies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
