About the role

The Washington Elementary School District is seeking a dedicated 5th Grade Teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year. Under general direction, you will deliver high‑quality instruction, create an engaging classroom environment, and support the academic and social growth of students.

Key responsibilities

• Teach the district‑approved curriculum aligned with Arizona State standards.
• Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and provide individualized or small‑group instruction.
• Communicate regularly with parents through newsletters, notes, phone calls, and conferences.
• Establish and maintain classroom behavior standards to ensure an effective learning atmosphere.
• Assess student progress, keep accurate records, and prepare progress reports.
• Coordinate the work of teacher aides, volunteers, and parents for classroom activities and field trips.
• Incorporate technology into lessons and create attractive learning displays.
• Maintain professional ethics, confidentiality, and a positive rapport with students, staff, and the community.

Required profile

• Valid Arizona Department of Education teaching certification for the position.
• Arizona Department of Public Safety Identified Verified Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Ability to plan, deliver, and assess instruction in accordance with state standards.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with parents and school personnel.
