3rd Shift Production Operator – Manufacturing

About the role

Moog is seeking a reliable 3rd Shift Production Operator to join its manufacturing team in Murphy, NC. You will work on the night shift assembling electromechanical products, ensuring quality and meeting production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble rotor, stator, and motor sub‑assemblies using documented procedures and tooling.
• Operate stripping machines, hand tools, and mold transfer presses to prepare and finish components.
• Install lead wire pin connectors, apply varnish, glue, and potting compounds to stator and rotor assemblies.
• Attach heat sinks to circuit boards and complete final motor/drive assembly.
• Load, monitor, and test automated machinery for performance specifications.
• Package finished motor/drive assemblies and maintain a clean work area.
• Cross‑train on all production operations and work overtime as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Mechanical aptitude with good hand‑dexterity, eyesight, and color discrimination.
• Ability to lift 20 lb frequently and up to 40 lb occasionally.
• Willingness to work around strong electromagnetic fields.

Required skills

• Soldering (or ability to become certified)
• Machine operation (stripper, press, automated equipment)
• Stat​or potting and varnish application
• Heat‑sink attachment and potting compound handling
• Automated machinery monitoring
