3rd Shift Back Shops & Support Operations Supervisor

About the role

Airbus is seeking a 3rd Shift Back Shops and Support Operations Supervisor for its U.S. Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, Alabama. The supervisor will lead assigned shops or teams, ensuring effective organization, production, and continuous improvement of budgets, schedules, worker utilization, and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Manage sub‑contracting activities (approximately 10% of time), ensuring schedule compliance, quality standards, and clear communication with subcontractors.
• Complete required forms and records related to subcontracting and coordinate material, documentation, and support across multiple internal departments.
• Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to guarantee on‑time, on‑cost, and on‑quality performance, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Oversee back shops, tool shops, and miscellaneous support operations (about 75% of time), diagnosing issues, recovering schedules, and monitoring KPIs.
• Participate in administrative reviews such as billing, audits, process validation, training, tooling, and technical data distribution.
• Report task inputs and outputs to management and support technical teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising manufacturing or shop floor teams, preferably in aerospace or related industries.
• Strong analytical ability to identify discrepancies, propose solutions, and drive schedule recovery.
• Experience coordinating with subcontractors and internal departments (engineering, production, finance, logistics, procurement, QA).
• Capability to monitor and act on KPI data to improve cost, schedule, and quality outcomes.
• Effective communication and documentation skills for reporting and administrative activities.
