340B Program Specialist

About the role

The 340B Program Specialist supports the Director of Pharmacy in overseeing Vail Health's 340B drug pricing program. This role serves as the subject‑matter expert for all 340B activities, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and driving operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the organization’s 340B program, acting as the primary liaison among Pharmacy, Finance, Compliance, Legal, Revenue Cycle, Supply Chain, IT, and clinical operations.
• Maintain ongoing compliance with HRSA, OPA, and other 340B regulatory requirements, including annual recertification and covered‑entity registrations.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive auditing program covering internal audits, contract pharmacy reviews, split‑billing validations, purchasing audits, and coordination of external audits.
• Support governance activities such as oversight committee meetings, program performance monitoring, and presentation of updates to leadership.
• Manage relationships with third‑party administrators, consultants, wholesalers, manufacturers, contract pharmacies, and software vendors.
• Oversee 340B purchasing, inventory management, split‑billing systems, and accumulator software to ensure accurate replenishment and compliance.

Required profile

• Experience in pharmacy operations, drug pricing programs, or healthcare compliance.
• Strong understanding of HRSA and OPA regulations related to 340B.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
