Workshop Technician – Mechanical & Hydraulics

About the role

The Workshop Technician will perform maintenance, refurbishment and readiness activities on subsea and surface equipment, as well as associated tooling packages, within the Morgan City workshop. The role supports both on‑site and international assignments and contributes to safety and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, mobilization, demobilization, periodic inspections, in‑storage servicing and refurbishment of company‑owned equipment.
• Assist in preparation, testing and mobilization of ROV systems and related tooling packages.
• Update equipment maintenance systems with accurate records of repairs, inspections and service activities.
• Participate in daily toolbox talks, safety discussions and STOP audits.
• Apply Oceaneering risk assessment processes (JSEA) and support QHSE initiatives.
• Promote 5S and Lean principles within the workshop environment.

Required profile

• Basic computer literacy and ability to operate standard software tools.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Technical or Associate degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Hydraulic Engineering or related field.
• 1+ years experience in hydraulics, mechanics, mechatronics, subsea tooling or control systems.

• Subsea controls, manifold, umbilical and XT installation.
• 5S and Lean methodology.
• Forklift truck operation (certified).
