Weld Engineer – All Levels

About the role

Saronic Technologies is building the next generation of autonomous maritime platforms. The Weld Engineer will create and lead the welding engineering program for ship construction at Port Alpha, ensuring safe, repeatable, and compliant welding processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and qualify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) for shipbuilding applications.
• Establish weld joint design standards and define welding parameters for various materials and thicknesses.
• Build the shipyard’s welding program, including standards, documentation, and inspection criteria aligned with classification society rules.
• Support implementation of automated welding systems such as panel line, robotic, and mechanized welding.
• Collaborate with production engineering to integrate welding processes into block construction and panel fabrication.
• Define welder qualification requirements, support training programs, and ensure certification compliance.
• Partner with Quality Assurance to develop inspection programs, conduct root‑cause investigations, and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in welding engineering within shipbuilding or heavy‑industry environments.
• Strong knowledge of classification society requirements and regulatory standards.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with production, QA, and design teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a focus on safety and quality.
