Web Developer – Joomla & Custom Development

About the role

Fantom Corporation is seeking a self‑sufficient Web Developer to lead the design, development and maintenance of Joomla‑based and custom web applications for defense and intelligence programs. The role involves full‑cycle delivery from planning through deployment while working onsite within a small team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain websites using Joomla and custom code.
• Lead end‑to‑end website projects, from architecture to deployment and ongoing maintenance.
• Implement functionality with PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript to meet business needs.
• Apply SEO best practices to improve visibility and performance.
• Enhance user experiences using UX principles.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance issues and site outages.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Manage regular updates, enhancements and site upkeep.

Required profile

• Proven experience with Joomla CMS and end‑to‑end website development.
• Strong programming background in PHP.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Knowledge of SEO implementation and UX design.
• Ability to work independently as the sole web developer within a small team.
• Must hold a current security clearance with a recent polygraph.
• Willingness to work fully onsite.
• Experience in Agile or fast‑paced development environments.
