About the role
eternalHealth, a consumer‑centric Medicare Advantage health plan based in Boston, is seeking a Vice President of Pharmacy. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, you will lead pharmacy operations, strategy, and clinical programs to support the plan’s growth and quality goals.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute action‑oriented strategies to achieve Part D STAR ratings of 4 STAR or higher.
- Optimize the pharmacy component of the Medical Loss Ratio through step therapy, comprehensive medication reviews, and cost‑lowering initiatives.
- Oversee OptumRx relationships, GLP‑1 action plans, and high‑cost drug management.
- Lead strategic product planning to create competitive, financially viable pharmacy benefits.
- Manage day‑to‑day pharmacy operations, clinical programs, and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain vendor contracts, especially with the Pharmacy Benefit Manager.
- Collaborate with CMO and clinical teams on quality initiatives and STAR measures.
- Develop policies, procedures, and desktop work instructions for pharmacy staff.
- Support audit activities and CMS readiness, tracking key performance indicators.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and an active pharmacist license.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Managed Care or Pharmacy Benefit Management.
- Ability to work on‑site in Boston.
- Strong understanding of CMS requirements and Medicare Advantage regulations.
