VoIP Technician (Cloud Voice)

About the role

The VoIP Technician installs, programs, and supports cloud‑based phone system projects on the NetSapiens platform. The role blends on‑site client work with remote system configuration, ensuring smooth cutovers, thorough testing, and strong client training.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and deploy cloud VoIP solutions, program users, extensions, call queues, auto attendants and other hosted voice features.
• Stage, label, provision and test phones (Yealink, Poly, etc.) before deployment, including MAC assignment and device templates.
• Support cutover and go‑live events with inbound/outbound call testing, E911 validation, fax/ATA testing and user acceptance testing.
• Perform structured cabling tasks, run and terminate cables, test and label connections.
• Troubleshoot basic network issues related to VLANs, DHCP, QoS, SIP ALG, switches, routers and firewalls.
• Document project progress, configurations and testing results in ConnectWise or a similar PSA system.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in telecommunications, VoIP or structured cabling with a professional client‑facing demeanor.
• Ability to follow project scopes, complete deployment checklists, document work accurately and enter time daily.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and a professional appearance.
• Self‑motivated to work independently on client sites while collaborating with project managers and engineers.
