About the role

The Georgia Department of Economic Development is seeking a part‑time Visitor Information Specialist to serve as the friendly face of the state’s tourism program. In this role you will welcome travelers, share insider knowledge of Georgia’s attractions, and help plan memorable visits.

Key responsibilities

• Greet visitors with Southern hospitality and provide personalized recommendations on destinations, events, dining, and hidden gems.
• Assist travelers in planning routes, securing lodging, and locating essential services such as medical or mechanical assistance.
• Maintain accurate visitor interaction records and engagement data.
• Represent Georgia at travel shows and special events to promote tourism.
• Update event and attraction information for state publications and websites.
• Support promotional campaigns, special projects, and marketing initiatives.
• Work flexible rotating weekend shifts and holidays to meet traveler needs.
