Vice President, Strategic Programs & Operations

About the role

AVEVA is seeking a transformational, execution‑focused leader to serve as Vice President of Strategic Programs & Operations within the Chief Technologist Organisation. The role partners with senior leaders to translate technology strategy into concrete actions, ensuring clear governance and delivery in a fast‑paced, complex environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the operational cadence, governance, and execution framework of the Chief Technologist organisation.
• Lead development, approval, and evolution of AVEVA’s cross‑functional technology strategy.
• Drive Culture of Innovation programmes such as hackathons, World Innovation Day, and the Lead Tech Evangelist initiative.
• Provide end‑to‑end oversight of CT initiatives, identifying risks, resolving blockers, and ensuring strategic alignment.
• Manage the dedicated CT budget, including planning, allocation, tracking, and executive reporting.
• Act as the operational filter for the Chief Technologist organisation, escalating only the most strategic priorities to senior leadership.
• Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders to enable alignment, pace, and delivery across functions.
• Develop executive‑level communications, including briefings, decision papers, and strategic updates.
• Identify capability gaps, prioritize investments, and improve operating models, governance, and delivery outcomes.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to programme leaders and project managers, fostering a high‑performance culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree (MS, MBA) preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in strategic operations, programme management, or related leadership roles.
• Proven track record of driving technology strategy and operational excellence at a senior level.
