About the role

The University of Tulsa seeks a visionary senior leader to modernize and transform its resource‑raising enterprise. Reporting to the President, the Vice President for Institutional Advancement will shape a comprehensive advancement strategy that supports academic excellence, student experience, and research impact.

Key responsibilities

• Set and execute a multi‑year advancement strategy aligned with institutional priorities, serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.
• Lead major‑gift fundraising, managing a portfolio of high‑level prospects and driving transformational gifts.
• Modernize advancement operations through data, technology, and digital engagement, implementing best‑in‑class CRM, analytics, and pipeline management systems.
• Design and deliver engagement strategies for donors, alumni, parents, and community partners, aligning donor interests with university goals.
• Represent the university publicly, building strategic partnerships with business, civic, and philanthropic communities.
• Inspire and develop a high‑performing advancement team, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous growth.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with a proven record of securing six‑ and seven‑figure gifts.
• Minimum 10 years of experience leading advancement or revenue‑generating functions, including team leadership and operational modernization.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable fundraising growth and engage senior stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication skills, executive presence, and experience working with donors, corporations, and foundations.
