Vice President, Enterprise Strategy

About the role

Join Mastercard as Vice President of Enterprise Strategy, where you will shape the company’s long‑term direction and influence critical decisions alongside the CEO and senior leadership. You will lead high‑impact strategic projects, evaluate growth opportunities, and communicate insights to the Executive Leadership Team and Board.

Key responsibilities

• Lead high‑priority strategic projects: frame issues, build workplans, conduct complex analysis, and deliver actionable recommendations.
• Develop strategy presentations and memos for C‑suite executives and the Board, synthesizing key issues and evaluating options.
• Generate new growth ideas grounded in market dynamics and competitive context.
• Refine the corporate strategy periodically to reflect material trends.
• Assess organic and inorganic opportunities aligned with strategic priorities.
• Partner with business leaders to design and advance their strategies while ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
• Coach and develop junior team members.
• Maintain up‑to‑date business landscape knowledge to inform projects.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in strategy consulting or strategy roles within payments, financial services, or related industries.
• Strong understanding of Mastercard’s products, services, revenue drivers, and the broader payments ecosystem.
• Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven track record of leading complex, enterprise‑level initiatives end‑to‑end in global, matrixed organizations.
• Excellent presentation and writing skills, capable of producing high‑quality executive‑level outputs.
• Ability to challenge assumptions and facilitate strategic discussions at all levels.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence, collaborate, and build credibility.
