Utilities Maintenance Technician

About the role

Join Nestlé Purina’s state‑of‑the‑art plant near Cincinnati, where you will maintain and optimize the mechanical utilities that keep production running smoothly. The role starts on a day shift, moves to a night 2‑2‑3 schedule after training, and offers a clear progression path.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and optimize compressors, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, wastewater treatment, domestic and hot water, refrigeration and fire systems.
• Execute preventative maintenance activities to prevent failures and ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Use schematics, CMMS, vibration analysis, thermal imaging and acoustic diagnostics to conduct root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering and production teams to solve technical problems.
• Perform basic rigging, pipefitting and welding tasks in an industrial environment.
• Model safety practices and train teammates on utilities systems.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience maintaining mechanical utilities in manufacturing, industrial, military or related settings.
• Current Ohio High‑Pressure Boiler Operator License or Stationary Engineer License.

Required skills

• Compressor, boiler, chiller, cooling‑tower and refrigeration system knowledge.
• Wastewater‑treatment and domestic/hot‑water system expertise.
• Preventative‑maintenance planning.
• CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) usage.
• Vibration analysis, thermal‑imaging and acoustic‑diagnostic techniques.
• Rigging, pipefitting and welding skills.
