Unreal Tools & Automation Engineer

About the role

Pipeworks Studios is seeking an experienced engineer to join an unannounced AAA project built in Unreal Engine 5. This hands‑on tools and development‑infrastructure role focuses on making the game easier to build, test, diagnose, and support.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with engineering, QA, production, support and client stakeholders to turn workflow needs into reliable production solutions.
• Design, build and maintain systems for crash capture, diagnostic data collection, logging, telemetry and issue triage.
• Develop automated testing tools, test orchestration, result analysis and continuous‑integration workflows.
• Create Unreal Editor utilities, plugins, command‑line tools and validation systems.
• Integrate project tools with source control, build systems, issue tracking and platform‑specific workflows.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional engineering experience, preferably with at least one shipped commercial game.
• Strong experience with Unreal Engine 5 and mature Unreal project workflows.
• Proficiency in C++ and C# and ability to navigate large, unfamiliar codebases.
• Clear written and verbal communication across disciplines.
• Experience using AI‑assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex or Claude Code.
