Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) Field Service Representative

About the role

Seasats is expanding its fleet of unmanned surface vessels (USVs) worldwide and needs skilled field operators to keep the fleet running smoothly. You will work alongside military and civilian partners, travel to remote locations, and support cutting‑edge maritime robotics missions.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy for up to two continuous months at Navy bases and other global sites, launching and recovering USVs.
• Monitor and control USVs remotely via computer or phone, handling bugs and feature requests.
• Plan missions using electronic devices and maps, accounting for weather and other variables.
• Maintain regular communication with the San Diego team through Slack, email, or Signal and provide daily status updates.
• Travel frequently to San Diego for training on new vehicle features and maintenance procedures.

Required profile

• Responsible, good‑humored, and able to work under pressure for extended periods.
• Willing to travel internationally for weeks at a time and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• Physically capable of handling heavy equipment and strenuous activity in varied weather.
• Valid driver’s license with no restrictions and able to obtain a security clearance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools, basic wrenching, and screwdrivers.
• Basic networking, electronics, and software troubleshooting.
• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
