Uniformed Security Officer – Campus Safety

About the role

We are looking for a Uniformed Security Officer to join 3M’s campus in Maplewood, MN. You will help protect people, assets and operations by monitoring threats, responding to incidents and providing a safe environment for employees and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and operate technical security tools to detect threats and risks.
• Manage incidents and emergency situations, coordinating resources and executing response procedures.
• Conduct regular campus and building patrols.
• Prepare clear incident and activity reports.
• Track global geopolitical events that could affect travel, events or operations and provide timely reports.
• Maintain awareness of security‑related issues such as terrorism, violent crime, natural disasters, civil unrest and workplace violence.
• Assist in maintaining and evaluating security databases and sources.
• Complete basic First Aid, CPR and AED training.
• Provide escorts for employees and visitors as needed.
• Follow corporate policies, departmental procedures and perform other related duties.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED or higher (verified before start).
• Minimum two years of experience in a security‑related role in a private, public, government or military setting.
• Current, valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift and carry at least 35 lb of emergency equipment.
• Flexibility to work all shifts (24/7) and overtime as required.
• Strong computer proficiency and comfort with a high‑tech environment.

Required skills

• Basic First Aid, CPR and AED certification.
