Underwriting Analyst II – Enterprise Payments

About the role

We are looking for an Underwriting Analyst II to join our Enterprise Payments team in Atlanta. In this role you will act as a strategic partner, evaluating complex enterprise merchants, quantifying credit exposure and balancing risk with commercial opportunity.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze enterprise‑scale business models and apply creative evaluation techniques to unlock high‑value deals while adhering to internal risk guidelines.
• Underwrite merchants in high‑risk verticals such as travel, ticketing, securities and gaming.
• Calculate credit exposure dynamically, tailoring the approach to each merchant’s nuances.
• Dissect profit & loss statements, balance sheets and cash‑flow statements to assess financial health.
• Synthesize micro and macro risks into clear recommendations for senior management, the Credit Risk Committee and partner banks.
• Collaborate with Sales and Account Management on customer calls, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Assess and process applications for innovative Pay to Card and Pay to Bank solutions.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in merchant underwriting or a closely related financial analysis role.
• Expert‑level ability to evaluate diverse business models, analyse financial statements and identify credit risk exposure.
• Strong communication skills with a “customer first” mindset, delivering creative commercial solutions without compromising risk standards.
• Proven collaborative approach, championing a “One Team” culture across functions.
• Decisive execution with strong escalation‑management skills, taking ownership and resolving roadblocks quickly.
• Passion for operational excellence and willingness to contribute to departmental projects and process improvements.
• Familiarity with Customer Due Diligence, KYC and KYB protocols is a strong plus.
